This site is meant for those that enjoy great craft beers and fine wines from all around the world. Visit SoCal Brewinery to learn about recent news, upcoming events, and other fun information. While SoCal Brewinery is located in San Diego, and we intend to highlight microbreweries and some smaller wineries throughout the region, we will also be focusing on many other wineries and breweries from around the world. Please leave us comments throughout the site and let us know of any great beers or wines that you have tried recently, and we will make an attempt to highlight them in future updates.
Chell is Socal Brewinery's "Beer Buddy." She appreciates a fine brew and is looking to support all the microbreweries and craft breweries of the world. SoCal Brewinery is based in San Diego, California, so a lot of her focus is in the breweries located in SoCal as she visits them and tastes the different beers which are made in the region. Chell prefers some of the lighter fare like hefeweizens and some of the less hoppy ales. She is slowly starting to appreciate a bit heavier beer or ones with a bit more hoppiness. Also, you will meet Chell's beer loving dog, Hefe, who loves to go with Chell to breweries. He is a 20 pound standard black and tan dachshund who would love to try every beer if given the opportunity.
Mitche is the SoCal Brewinery "Wine Girl." She has always enjoyed a nice glass of wine when out with friends or at home with a nice meal. She tends to prefer the red varietals with a slightly more dry bitter taste. Whites are also nice with a good meal, but she avoids the rose wines as she finds most of them overly sweet. You will also meet Mitche's dog Zin. He is a nine pound little package of terror who goes with Mitche on her trips to wineries to protect her along the way. He also shows surprising knowledge of wines as you will see along the way.
Mr. Winestein
Mr. Winestein has traveled the world in search of some of the finest beers and wines from the far corners of the earth. He tends to be a bit of a snob when it comes to his appreciation of wines, but he knows a good wine when he experiences it. He also has a fine appreciation for a well made craft beer hand made by some of the finest smaller brewers that the world has not heard about yet. He likes his beer hoppy and full of ingredients. The more the better. Mr. Winestein tends to be quite a character as he shows up tagging along on some of Chell's and Mitche's tours of local breweries and wineries. You never know where he will pop up next.
Scott
Scott is our tech guy who does the development on the website and also produces and edits the videos we make. He has a great appreciation for small microbreweries and is interested in helping them succeed. The time that these smaller craft breweries take to really combine ingredients in different ways to produce many unique blends keeps him motivated to always try something new. Over the past several years he has also learned to appreciate a good wine and, in much the same way, is interested in helping the smaller wineries promote their wines. Add your comment |
