Declare Your Beer Independence During American Craft Beer Week

American Craft Beer WeekThe American Craft Beer Week takes place May 11-17, 2009 all across the country.  It is a celebration meant to highlight breweries that produce less than 2 million barrels of beer a year and are also independently owned.  This became officially recognized by Congress in 2006 with House Resolution 753.  As part of this, there will be festivals, special releases, and other highlights all across America for that week in an effort to promote this smaller segment of the beer production industry.

Also, during this week craft breweries are encouraging everyone to sign a Declaration Of Beer Independence.  This states your support for the craft brewing industry and that you will help promote these smaller breweries by what you choose to drink.
