Andretti Winery

Mario Andretti, the famous race car driver from IndyCar, NASCAR, and other racing styles, also has a love for wine.  He has his own winery called Andretti Winery in the heart of the Oak Knoll District in Napa Valley, California.  This area is ideal for growing Chardonnay and Merlot wines because of the cool breezes and fog off the San Pablo Bay mixed with the rich valley soil.

Andretti Winery was founded in 1996 by Mario Andretti and his longtime friend, Joe Antonini.  Mr. Antonini was the former CEO and Chairman of the Kmart Corporation.  The winery has 42 acres of vineyard, has a Tuscan style, and the tasting room is covered with memorabilia from Andretti's career. Bob Pepi is the winemaker, and he has a good reputation in Napa Valley for making award-winning wines.   They have three distinct brands:  Montona Reserve Series, Napa Valley Series, and Selection Series.  Their goal at Andretti Winery is to create wines that are both fruit-forward and food-friendly.
