Ballast Point Yellow Tail Pale Ale

Ballast Point Yellow Tail Pale Ale

Brewery: Ballast Point Brewery, San Diego, CA

Type: Ale - Kolsch

% ABV: 4.6

Reviewer: Mr. Winestein

Score: 8

Appearance

This beer pours a nice clear golden color, moderate carbonation visible, and a nice thick head which lasts for some time and disappears with little lacing.

Aroma

The aroma is of mild citrus flavors and a bit of hops.

Mouthfeel

Nothing stands out besides the mild fizziness associated with the carbonation.

Taste

The beer starts off with a mild bitter taste and then finishes clean. There are very few dominant flavors except for a mild citrus taste. Overall not a bad beer. If you like the style this is probably one you could enjoy a few of.

Additional Comments

If you like the style this is probably one you could enjoy a few of. If your into stronger beers though, this one may leave you with the sense that something is lacking.

To me, this beer is almost perfect. Just the right amount of maltiness, but not too sweet. Nice and smooth.
