Drifter Pale Ale

Drifter Pale Ale

Brewery: Widmer Brothers, Portland Oregon

Type: Ale - Pale Ale

% ABV: 5.7

Reviewer: Mr Winestein

Score: 6

Appearance

Drifter has a clear reddish-gold color. There is a very small head which doesn't last and leaves almost no lacing on the glass.

Aroma

There is a distinct hops smell present along with some citrus flavors beneath.

Mouthfeel

This beer starts out with a bit of a creamy taste to it with some slight, very smooth carbonation.

Taste

Drifter Pale Ale starts out with that creaminess and hints of malts, citrus, and mild hops. Toward the end the hops begin to make the beer less creamy smooth and more bitter.

Additional Comments

Overall this beer is OK. I think it starts off in the right direction but am not crazy about the finish.

I was disappointed with this beer, too. The finish is just plain bad - it tastes like trash or body odor. I doubt that's what they were going for..
