Port Brewing 3rd Anniversary Double IPA

Port Brewing 3rd Anniversary Double IPA

Brewery: Port Brewing

Type: Ale - India Pale Ale (IPA)

% ABV: 10

Reviewer: Winestein

Score: 7

Appearance

This IPA pours a cloudy orange color. There is a small head which dies out in a few minutes with a little lacing ring.

Aroma

There are hints of fruits, pineapple, and malts overpowered by the hops which are clearly present in quantity.

Mouthfeel

This beer has a very thick creamy consistency. There is a mild amount of carbonation which leaves it with a heavy feeling.

Taste

Starts out with a nice piney flavor which then becomes overpowered by the malts and hops ending with a bit of a oily hop finish.

Additional Comments

This beer is fairly drinkable for a double IPA. There is enough balance with the malts and hops to keep it fairly evened out. Careful of the 10% ABV ... this beer can sneak up on you quickly after a few.
