The first BJ's Chicago Pizzeria was opened in 1978 in Santa Ana, California. It was not until 1996 that the first BJ's brewery was started in their Brea, California location. Then they changed their name to BJ's Restaurant & Brewery. They brew consistently great beers in a variety of ales and lager styles.
