Caduceus Cellars and Merkin Vineyards

Maynard James Keenan, lead singer of Tool and A Perfect Circle is a wine maker as well.  How perfect is that being able to listen to his music while enjoying a nice glass of his wine.  Maynard’s wineries are in Cornville, Arizona and they are called Caduceus Cellars and Merkin Vineyards.  On November 25, 2005 Maynard released his first wine ever called Caduceus Primer Paso.  Here are the wines made there:

Caduceus Cellars

  • 2006 Anubis
  • 2005 Merkin Vineyards Chupacabra
  • 2006 Merkin Vineyards Chupacabra
  • 2006 Merkin Vineyards Shinola
  • 2004 Nagual De La Naga
  • 2005 Nagual De La Naga
  • 2004 Nagual Del Sensei
  • 2005 Nagual Del Sensei
  • 2004 Primer Paso
  • 2005 Primer Paso
  • 2006 Primer Paso

However, it is very hard to acquire a bottle of his wine.  Two ways you can do this is by physically going to Page Springs Cellars tasting room next time you are in Cornville, Arizona or ordering online, but limited quantities are available.  Check out his wine website at http://www.caduceus.org.  Leave a comment and let us know if you have something to say about this winery.

I've tried a couple of their wines, my favorite is the Shinola. It has a very nice blend of Merlot and a couple other wines ... I believe a Cabernet and something else. I'd recommend it if your looking for one to try out.
