California Beer Industry Contributed $25 Billion To Economy In 2008

A study commisioned by the National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) and the Beer Institute shows that in 2008 the beer industry contributed $25 billion to the California economy.  That represents approximately 1/8 of the $200 billion that the beer industry contributed nationwide.

Statewide over 100,000 people are directly employed by the industry and over 200,000 indirectly.  This shows the importance of the beer production and distribution industries to the overall economy of California and the U.S.  Additionally it shows California's growing strength as shown by the high number of craft brewery influences throughout the state.

Its so great to see the craft beer industry in CA is doing so well and helping to create so many great jobs. The rest of the country should take a look at what is going on out here. Not only is it great for the economy but a real treat to live amongst so many great breweries!!!
