Cougar Vineyard & Winery was established in Temecula around 2003. However, the owners started making wine in Texas, but too hot, so moved to Seattle, Washington. They finally moved to California and started the Cougar Vineyard & Winery. They are active members of the San Diego Amateur Winemaking Society (SDAWS). Courgar has won numerous awards such as the Silver Medal for 2009 Jerry D. Mead's New World International Wine Competition and the Silver Medal for 2007 Temecula Valley Wine Society Competition.
