Karl Strauss Named Best San Diego Brewery

Karl Strauss Brewing Company was recently recognized as the best brewery in San Diego at the 25th Annual Gold Medallion Banquet for the San Diego Chapter of the California Restaurant Association.  This award was first given out last year for the best brewery category in which Karl Strauss also won first place.  "We are honored to have been chosen for this award, says Brewmaster Paul Segura.  There were some great local breweries on the list, and I think some of the bigger beers we’ve been releasing along with some interesting projects helped us to defend our title."

Karl Strauss beat out other notable breweries including Port Brewing, Coronado Brewing Company, Stone Brewing Company, and Green Flash for this title.  The Karl Strauss Brewery was started in 1989 and is celebrating their 20th Anniversary this year and plans to continue producing world class beers which are greatly appreciated throughout San Diego for many years to come.
