Mount Palomar is located in Temecula, California with 40 acres of vineyards. Mount Palomar Winery was founded in 1975 by John H. Poole. Peter Poole, John's son, took over the winery in 1985 and made significant changes such as using Mediterranean grape varieties. Etienne Cowper is the wine maker that helped Peter create top quality Temecula wine. The current winemaker is now Craig Boyd, whom has years of winemaking experience from California to New York.
