Ponte Family Estate is located in the famous Temecula Wine Country. Ponte is owned by the Ponte family that purchased over 500 acres of Cabernet, Merlot, Chardonnay, Zinfandel, and Suvignon Blanc vineyards back in 1984. They used to sell the fruit to other California wineries, but then opened their own winery in May 2003. Now Ponte is considered one of Temecula's finest winery. They have an outdoor restaurant called the Smokehouse that is opened Monday through Saturday from 11-5 and for Sunday brunch 11-2 or Sunday lunch 2-5. Their menu changes based on the season of the year, so check out their website to see the current menu options. Ponte Estate has a tasting room, which is open daily 10-5. Ponte does offer tours, but they are private, so they require reservations and a minimum of four people. On the tour you will taste wine right out of the oak barrels, view the 350 acres of vineyards, see the winemaking equipment, and taste six Ponte Vineyards wine.
