Port Brewing Company is located in San Marcos, California. However, it was not always located there. Vince and Gina Marsaglia starting brewing at home in 1992, but then expanded out because they were brewing so much. Pizza Port served their first beer in 1993 in Solana Beach. In addition, they added two more Pizza Port locations in Carlsbad and San Clemente. Eventually, they ran out of space trying to distribute their beers outside the restaurants. Then they expanded again and bought the old Stone brewing facility in San Marcos in 2006, so they are now able to make up to 5000 barrels of beer. They changed their entity to Port Brewing Co, LLC. and opened on May 5, 2006. You can check out their tasting room on Fridays 4-8 p.m. and Saturdays 12-5 p.m. and even get bottles, jugs, and merchandise while sampling. They offer tours only during their tasting hours and if you have groups larger than six, than call ahead for reservations. Check out their website at www.portbrewing.com.
