Kid Rock's American Badass Beer Premieres

Kid Rock's American Badass Beer is almost ready to go. The Michigan Brewing Company started brewing on July 4th and the first release will be at Kid Rock’s Comerica Park Concerts in Detroit on July 17th and 18th. The initial release of 300 kegs will be this weekend and will be followed up shortly in the Michigan market with 12 and 22 ounce bottles.

It has been announced that Bob Ritchie aka Kid Rock will be joining forces with Drinks America to create "The American Bad Ass Beer Company." The beer will be brewed at the Michigan Brewing Company in Webberville, Michigan creating 150 new jobs for the struggling economy along the way. There are few details yet on what types of beers will be brewed, however, Kid Rock will have direct involvement in the final beer selections.

The Michigan Brewing Company plans to invest $7 million into this new project. In addition, they will be receiving a $723,000 tax credit over seven years from the Michigan Economic Growth Authority. According to their press release they plan to develop an "easy-to-drink, traditional, good-tasting American manufactured beer."

In addition to the 150 new jobs at the brewery being created, there will be an estimated additional 250 jobs created statewide dealing with everything from packaging and shipping the beer to marketing efforts.

Drinks America specializes in promoting products associated with celebrities. Other products include Trump Super Premium Vodka, Willie Nelson's Old Whiskey River Bourbon, and Paul Newman's Own Lightly Sparkling Fruit Juice Drinks and Flavored Waters.

Its good to see someone from the area doing something to help out the local economy. Hope they brew up some amazing beer. I'm a big fan and would love to see this new beer really succeed in this area.

I tried it a few days ago. Was OK ... pretty drinkable. A nice lager. Wasn't as badass as I had hoped. I thought it was pretty typical.

the beer is really good. you can find it at meijer in their micro-brewery section. some local michigan pubs have it on tap also. it is good enuf where i will buy it again and i am not usually a person who likes a lager.

This beer really is BAD ASS. I had my first one at a Wings game. I live in Ohio and wish I could get it here.

had it for the first time at MIS on Sunday - Loved it, having a hard time finding it in the stores though. If I could find it, I would buy it!

I tried it. Its not for beer snobs, but its good when you are drinking for sport or volume. Nice and light but still has some flavor. Its pretty reasonably priced also. Hell they sell it by the case at Cosco. Just so you know you don't need a membership at Cosco to buy alcohol.

Kudos 2 Kidd Rock,my hubby & I r huge fans of ur music!Also,were so glad ur contributing 2 the economy here r the USA,especially Michigan,where corperate America screwd us outta so many of r jobs here,& outsource them 2 China/India.It's 2 bad more Hollywood types aren't like U,Emeime,Oprah,Angelia Jolie,Brad Pitt,Bob Segar etc.,they all can quite livin n their rich fantasy worlds & buy some old factories like u did.W/O us buying their music,movies,watching their tv shows,they wouldn't have the incomes they live on.We employee them,they should repay us.If were not employed,we can't afford their cds,itunes,dvds,blue ray discs,tvs,cable etc.The HollyWood elite wouldn't hav their jobs,if were weren't keepin them employed.It's only right for them 2 reach n2 their own pockets,open up some factories & give back 2 society.If we hit it big,we'd open up/retool probably another crayoloa crayon factory/or something similar.Sadly,were 2 poor 2 open such a place.

I love it I wish I could get it in Oklahoma a friend brought some back from Michigan and I tried to find it here and in Texas but no luck. Can not wait to be able to go and buy some at the store.
